Shabaana is the proud owner and Legal/HR director of WWISE. She is a seasoned leader who specialises in Legal and Operational Management. She is experienced in building and scaling business growth through a combination of company vision goals, as well as strategic and operational management.  She leads a professional team of men and women to ensure the provision of high-quality corporate support to WWISE and its clients. Shabaana’s specialty is to provide leadership and direction and is expected to interact with corporate clients and partners who have an impact on the operations of WWISE. She started working at WWISE in 2012 as an Office Manager and has thus excelled in becoming a Director and owner.

She is currently playing a hands-on role, which is critical to the effective functioning of WWISE. She delivers an efficient and effective role to the organisation in line with international best practices. She is pursuing her degree in BCom Law through UNISA and has experience in the legal and compliance field where she has attended numerous courses with the SABS on Safety, Health and Environmental Legislations.

She has been involved in many projects which include the MTN SA, USAID, JSI, SABC ISF Services and many more.  She is a competent Legal Auditor in the field of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) ISO standards. She oversees the development of bridging Medium-term goals and strategies towards the Strategic Plan outcomes of WWISE based on sound risk management analysis that are undertaken annually. She also ensures that all WWISE’s procedures are efficient, meet all the requirements, and are understood and implemented across the organisation. She is a valued and effective member of the Executive Team who enhances the reputation of WWISE.

Shabaana is also passionate about social activism, she engages in numerous philanthropic activities in Pretoria with Education, Clothing and Food. Her love for the less fortunate is evident through her actions, her belief is that everyone has an inherent desire to give back and leave a mark on society.

Muhammad

is a PhD Candidate and a qualified Industrial and Systems Engineer with a master’s Degree from the University of Pretoria. Muhammad is a Safety, Health, Environmental, Risk and Quality (SHERQ) Registered Lead Auditor who assists the SABS with certification audits on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 20000-1 and ISO 50001. Muhammad has wide-ranging experience in the public sector, telecommunications, automotive, construction, engineering, manufacturing, and various service sectors. He has assisted over 590 clients in the past 11 years as a consultant and is the Managing Director of WWISE. WWISE has a 100% record in certifying clients to any ISO standard with various certification bodies.

Prior to WWISE, Muhammad worked at the Automotive Leather Company (ALC) as a Quality Engineer in the production and quality control of the manufacturing of Mercedes Benz E-Class Seats (W211) from 2006 – 2007. Thereafter he branched into the nuclear industry working on the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) project assisting Hi-Tech Select in documenting processes, creating efficiency models, and following various International Standard Compliance mechanisms.

The South African Quality Institute (SAQI) in 2008/9 identified the potential of Muhammad’s knowledge on ISO Management Systems and ability to train and motivate people, they requested Muhammad to start by registering his own company and granted him two projects, to assist the Diplomatic Academy of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) to become ISO 9001:2008 Certified and train Acelor Mittal Engineers on the course of Certified Quality Technicians.

The success led Muhammad to grow the business by word of mouth and quality proficiencies to be where is now, with employing over 30 staff and assisting over 200 clients globally in ISO Certifications. Muhammad has been supported by Small Enterprises Development Agency Science and Technology Programme (SEDA STP) to assist SMME’s in creating structures and systems using various ISO standards to create assurance of local and international clients.

Maylee Hartzenburg

has been working for WWISE since 2011. She has a Bachelor of Information Technology in Business Systems and various qualifications in Project Management. In her role as a Projects and Operations Manager she is a Lead Auditor that works closely with the Managing Director as Systems implementer.

As the head of the Systems Department she develops and implements systems of various complexities and is in charge of projects of all sizes. To date, she has developed and implemented over 130 systems on various ISO Management Standards within WWISE as a Project and Operations Manager and ISO Specialist. She has a substantial amount of experience in the public sector, telecommunications, automotive, construction, engineering, manufacturing, and various other service sectors.

Maylee reports on all the WWISE ISO implementation project activities, problems, and requirements as a strategic tool in keeping decision-makers moving towards the achievement of business goals and objectives.

Her division plays a critical role in adding value to organisations and to best position organisations for long term success. She manages contracts and projects by assigning tasks and communicating the expected deliverables to her team of ISO Consultants and Administrators. She prepares budgets based on the project’s scope of work and resource requirements, she monitors project progress and adjusts resources as and when necessary.

She believes that no matter the size of a project, without a vision, there will be no direction. As a leader, her job is to provide a vision to focus the team’s attention on a common goal, to ensure they support each other, and work actively to excel in all they do.

Van Zyl is a qualified Construction Health and Safety Manager with an international certificate from NEBOSH. He is currently registered as a construction health and safety manager with SACPCMP. He specialises in Construction Health and Safety. He has extensive knowledge in the private sector, Construction Management with trades that include temporary works, telecommunication, civils works, and services installations i.e., fire and electrical, heavy lifting and rigging, Asbestos, Roof work etc.

He has recently assisted clients like Discovery, Consol, Distell, Apollo Air, Department of Health to develop Construction Health and Safety Specifications based on a baseline risk assessment, design risk reports and geotechnical reports. The scope included assessing and approving the principal contractor’s health and safety system. This consist of assessing the competency and resources, risk assessments, health and safety plans etc. prior to the appointed contractors commencing with work on site. He also did monthly compliance audits on the contractors appointed to ensure compliance and provided detailed reports of the findings made.

Furthermore, he has assisted numerous specialised trades to achieve compliance on-site, where he developed health and safety systems for clients. These Health and Safety Systems included but are not restricted to, Health and Safety Plans, baseline risk assessments, issued base risk assessments, method statements and safe working procedures, lock-out procedures and fall protection plans etc. As part of his scope of work, he audited subcontractors to ensure compliance and provided a detailed report on the findings made.
